IATSE Local 52
Eric Branting, NYC Location Sound

I am a New York City-based Location Sound Mixer with a focus in narrative film and television, and a proud member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 52.

Since graduating from New York University, I have spent years developing my skills across all styles and genres of filmmaking, discovering and refining my professional ambitions. Before joining the union, the majority of my work was non-narrative: documentary, reality, corporate, and commercial. I traveled extensively and developed a strong reputation in the non-union film community as a dependable, skilled, and personable Sound Mixer. However, my experience in narrative genres was more limited. I realized that the only way to continue honing my craft was to join the union. Upon my acceptance into Local 52, my aspirations crystallized into a passion for mixing narrative film and television.

For the past few years, I have been lucky to work as a Sound Utility under some of the best Mixers in the business. They taught me how to be a better Mixer and also modeled how to be a good leader and department head. Today my work is imbued with the lessons of my mentors and by my years of experience in the industry. I always place clear, consistent communication and a willingness to learn above all else, and I strive to infuse every set I work on with humility, joy, and good humor.

I currently work with a full, multi-cam-ready narrative sound cart package and mobile bag rig, and I am always updating, maintaining, and adding to my extensive pool of equipment. Recent credits include mixing additional and tandem units on Billions (S.5), The Blacklist (S.7), The Good Fight (S.4), and God Friended Me (S.2). Take a look at my RESUME or IMDB for a complete list of credits. I look forward to working with you next!
